What the Album is About
The Sweet Songs Album is a work-in-progress currently underway courtesy of Hideout Studios in Austin, Texas. The album is collection of songs for children that adults will love from nine singer-songwriter women friends. Half of us are moms; all of us love children. We have been creatively guided by Austin's own beloved and prolific Sara Hickman as our producer.
We are: Monica Cravotta, Libby Kirkpatrick,Sarah Sharp, Gretchen Janzow, Mary Londos, Erin Ivey, Elizabeth Suggs, Elizabeth McQueen and Noelle Hampton.
Our first round of fundraising in 2009 was an emormous success. We were blessed with many donations from people desiring to support our music and our cause in raising awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding and the need for donated milk. All profits from the album to go to The Mother's Milk Bank.
We raised the money required to finish production -- to pay for musicians who gave their time to play on our songs, to pay for mastering, and to pay for duplication once the mastering and artwork for the cover is complete.
We are now well on our way to completing our Sweet Songs album which will be publicly released on Mother's Day both online and at our Mother's Day party at Big Red Sun in Austin. Stay tuned for details for this fantastic family-fun event!
Our final fundraising push is to raise money to ensure the success of the album through the creation of a web site for promotion and sales, publicity for local and national press as well as social media outreach, and the cost of putting together our Mother's Day Event.
We welcome corporate sponsors who offer products or services for mothers and babies that align with a pro-breastfeeding message or are environmentally conscious. All businesses donating money to our cause will receive advertising on the album web site, their name listed on the album liner notes and the opportunity to sell their products at our Mother's Day event.
Individuals seeking to contribute will also be recognized on the album liner notes. We will send a free copy of the album for contributions of $25 or more and provide this, plus 2 free tickets to the CD release concert for donations of $100 or more.
